QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent desired
REPORTS TO: Live 2 Learn Director and Assistant Director
JOB GOAL: To assist students in the opportunity to participate in activities that will foster academic, physical, and social growth.
PERFORMANCE REPSONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists Live 2 Learn Director and Assistant Director in daily preparation of program facility. 2. Assists students during educational, physical, and social activities. 3. Assists students during snack time.
TERMS OF EMPLOYEMENT: Pay based on hourly rate.
LEGAL AND ETHICAL DUTIES: 1. Maintains confidentiality about all aspects of student performance and written and oral records. 2. Demonstrates a respect for the legal and human rights of students and families. 3. Follows health and safety procedures established by the district. 4. Arrives and departs punctually, notifying appropriate personal about absences and coverage. 5. Demonstrates, loyalty, dependability, integrity, and other ethical standards. 6. Follows the chain of command for various administrative procedures and student or program concerns.

Youth with Disabilities Entering Employment:
It is 900 hour term of service from Jan- June. We are looking for one member in Jackman Maine. Individuals will receive a small stipend of around $800 a month, after taxes. Health insurance and child care if needed. Once the term is complete an Ed Award will be given, of $2,880.00 for the 900 hours of service to pay back student loans or to spend during the next seven years. The program has in school and after school activities. This program works with high school students ages 14-21, with disabilities, helping them to identify goals after high school in education, employment and community living as well as self determination skills and creating a positive sense of self. We are seeking individuals with experience working with young people with disabilities, career aspiration and planning skills as well as the ability to be flexible with good communication skills. This is an AmeriCorps full time, half year position. The grant, all of the record keeping, liability, living allowance, health insurance and mileage will be paid through the Maine Transition Network which is collaborating with Forest Hills School System. This position will work in the school but will not be an employee of the school. | | | Staff |
